Please see below for general information about our classes. Please select specific classes for further details on class topics.
Donaldson Class - Mrs Parker
Children joining Reception, along with Year 1 pupils, are warmly welcomed into Donaldson with Mrs Parker, supported by Mrs Getter. Our classroom is a vibrant and inspiring learning environment, complemented by a fantastic undercover outdoor area that can be accessed throughout the day. Children enjoy exploring exciting spaces such as the mud kitchen, sandpit, and water play area, as well as many other stimulating zones designed to spark curiosity and creativity. We believe that every child learns in their own unique way, and our classroom reflects this by offering a range of engaging learning areas to ensure all children receive an enriching education.
Rosen Class - Miss Bruton
Years 2 & 3 are taught by Miss Bruton supported by Mrs Tunstall. The classroom is a stimulating and ever-changing learning environment. The class is a busy learning environment, in which children excel and are inspired and engaged whilst accessing the curriculum. The children continue their journey to become independent learners, whilst support from their peers creates a 'teamwork' approach to learning.
Dahl Class - Mrs Bennington & Mrs Penn
Years 4 & 5 are taught by Mrs Bennington & Mrs Penn, supported by Mrs Lambert. We enjoy practical learning in maths, as it helps us to understand what we are working on. We also like to do lots of practical science. In our class we learn about mindfulness and meditation to help us relax and to help us to understand each other and ourselves. In our literacy we love listening to and reading stories, then acting them out. We then use these ideas in our own work.
Shakespeare Class - Mr Thompson
Year 5 & 6 pupils are taught by Mr Thompson in Class 4. Even though the classroom is more structured, in order to get the children ready for their secondary education, it also offers the children the opportunity to experience different learning zones. Children have plenty of leadership opportunities when running whole school clubs. The growth mindset approach to learning encouraged within the class, helps foster a mature, resilient learning outlook alongside a positive self-image that is key for secondary school.
